hydroboration?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Do I need to memorize the full pathway for hydroboration reaction?
You must know what the intermediate looks like.....i.e...the alkylborane, know that H and OH come in on the same face, and that the overall result is an anti-Markovnikov addition.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask questions.

Ok, that square complex it forms, right? Do I need to know the rearrangement of the oxygen or that should be enough for that. I know its a syn addition, however anti markov? Is that it, but make sure to know that square intermediate complex?

The rearrangement is not needed for the DAT or OAT as stated, know the reaction, stereochemistry and the intermediate and you are good to go.

I hope this helps..

If you have more questions just ask but everything you need to know is in the Destroyer.
