Hey all! I need help applying. I'm about to graduate from my undergraduate and and take a gap year. I'm about to apply to dental schools this cycle. Can anyone give me tips and pointers about where I stand, and if I need to take another gap year?

Overall GPA: 3.15
Science GPA: 2.95
DAT(21AA, 21TS) - no scores under 20

5 shadowing exp. >200+ hrs
>500+ volunteering hrs.
Helped started a monthly volunteer medical and dental clinic in a low socioeconomic community
  • Currently have been serving as the trip/volunteer coordinator for the past two years
Competed in school's athletic program for 4 years as an undergrad
  • Served as president, treasurer and media/publicity for the team
Any advice, critiques, comments?

Thanks in advance!

Your DAT is good, but not high enough to offset your GPAs, in my opinion- your sGPA might not meet the cutoff for many schools. I'm not sure if it's too late to apply to a Master's program, but I think that's what you need to do, to prove to dental schools you can handle upper division courses. Your ECs are really good! Best of luck!
