But just when I start to calm down, I click on 'School Specific Threads', and I see an update on a thread for a school which I've applied to... automatically I panic and think "Oh here we go again. Somebody got interviews and I didn't. Why oh why oh why?!?! I'm never gonna get accepted. It's over. Done. Finito."

SDN is a bad place to be on when you're waiting for interview invites! try to avoid it and it will make you less neurotic, I promise! Its still very early in the game!

This person is right. I was terrified I wouldn't get an interview. Then when I got one, I was sooo happy, until after the interview. Now every day is filled with trying not to drive myself crazy wondering if I'm getting into that school and if I will ever get another interview since my mailbox has now been silent for over a month.

isn't it really more like 10 months?
this process is guaranteed to make you crazy at some point. if you feel yourself getting sucked into a vicious emotional cycle, the best thing to do is take a break from SDN for a week or so. come back when you're not feeling so vulnerable to comparisions with others (who might not even be real, BTW!)
