Advertisement - Members don't see this ad

I am going to be controversial and say what I believe. 😱

There are intruders amongst us. I have reason to believe that some of these posts are not students but faculty members at school. I don’t post much but I read a lot of post every day. Maybe I am just being paranoid but this is what I come to believe. Think about it, and tell me it doesn’t make sense, its free advertisement for schools. Don’t get me wrong I luv this site and when I was applying it help me out a lot, in fact I preach to everyone I know that is applying to professional school (MD,DO, DDS, Pharm. D) to check it out. But all I have to say is get advise from several people before making a decision.

Or Maybe I have to stop smoking so much it’s making me paranoid, hint, hint.

Even if there were faculty members posting, why would it really matter? 😕

I'm sure everyone on here is somewhat level-headed and realizes that even though this is a great tool for students to gain advice, it is ultimately still the INTERNET... and because of that, everything you read on this site should be taken slightly with a grain of salt.

pharmacology is a school faculty member at Appalachia. (Can you guess what he teaches? 😛 ) lisi is at USN, although I am not sure what her position is there. Neither keeps their affiliation a secret.

I don't know of any other faculty/staff on the boards.

I could not have said it better!
It would be great if there more profs (and just practicing pharmacists) that would post. I hope SDN gets to the point where we can have separate forums for lots of subjects. Maybe a general science forum, pharmacology, case studies, and other stuff I don't know yet. What do you think? SDN could become the ultimate tutor instead of a bitchfest.

I don't keep it a secret but I have never actually stated where I am...shhhh. 🙂

I don't think faculty actually come here with the specific purpose to advertize their school. They probably are willing to discuss issues related to their school or provide insight into their perspective on pharmacy education, students, etc. Plus I'm sure faculty gain insight into what students are thinking about and hopefully students get a glimpse through the eyes of a few faculty. But I haven't seen anyone here who is raising the banner and shouting come to my school it is the best.

I don't think any pharmacy school needs to worry about recruiting. There was something like 2000 applicants for 150 spots at UoP. Unfortunately that also lets them treat students like dirt and get away with it with no consequences.

I am also an adjunct faculty member at a pharmacy school, I will confess. But before you all start asking, etc. I have NO bearing on admissions to the school. If I did, I would never be posting here

The Pharmacy forum is for current pharmacy students AND practicing pharmacists. There are current threads over there that talk about current events and situations that occur in daily practice. Anytime anyone wants to begin a thread like the ones you've mentioned, the pharmacy forum is waiting for them.

pharmacy schools don't need to adversite...They need us, and we need them (no doubt that we need them more 😉 )... I think all pharmacy schools do an awsome job in teaching..Some differences are tuition, locations, class size...Those are professional schools, of course they do how to teach, no need of advertisement...

It's nice if faculty make posts here, b/c they will give us advices and useful infor..Not a problem for me...So please, post more posts!!!! 🙂

I'm actually not surprised if there are professors here posting. Sometimes it's to trick us, or make sure we aren't copying other people's answers, personal statements, etc. They do do that you know. Or well, people from different schools.

But at the same time, it's kind of cool that they would take time from their life just to see what pre pharms and pharmacists are talking about here in this forum.

But no biggy, everything I'm saying is very honest so I've got nothin to hide. 😉
