Hi.

When I was writing my application, I have heard there will be some disadvantage if I retook some courses. I did not think this would be the huge deal at that time.

Now, I can check my gpa calculated in aadsas method, my GPA went down alot, it became 2.70. My original GPA from school is still not great 3.2, but I believe this is much better than 2.7. Since I was slacking until the first semester of sophomor yr, I needed to retook organic, genchem, and biology. Right now I have A, A- for Chem I, II, C(retaking this semester), A- for bio I, II, B+, B for O Chem I, II, and A, B+ for Physics. I am taking my DAT on 9/10, and I am getting 20~23 in topscore tests. If I get good score for the DAT on this september, do I still have the shot for the acceptance? I am done with my application process, I have 150hr of dental lab part time job experience, 50 hr of shadowing, and couple hundreds hours of community services.

Plz analyse my situation and tell me if I have a shot. What kind of DAT score should I get? And tell me what can I do from now if I want to increase my possiblity. (I am taking 18 credits in this semester full with science courses to prove I can do better.)

A solid DAT score will definitely help...
And as for retaking classes, you have to retake if you don't above C- for most schools i believe so i guess it's sort of now or later.. and if you did well in them, the schools will notice that too..
I'd say just concentrate on nailing your DAT cause that can make you stand out.

2.7 is kinda low but still try to nail the DAT and apply. it doesn't hurt to try...if it doesn't work out get a masters...that's wut everyone says.

You definitely need to get that GPA up though, I know alot of schools have a cutoff at 3.0 and won't consider you if you are below that.
