Pissing me off +pissed+ 😡 and making me sad 🙁 at the same time. I just wasted an entire 30 minutes of time I DONT have trying to find a data sheet so I can finish up my stupid lab notebook. Im so tired of losing things! I lost a sheet of microbes and the diseases they cause a couple weeks ago. When it came time for the quiz I was lucky enough to find someone who had the list, xerox it, and cram all of the info into my head in time to get the questions right.

I am sooo fed up with not being organized enough. I lose assignment sheets, homework sheets...everything and its stressing me out. I don't have very much space in my room (not even enough for my books 😡 ) but something has got to give, so that I can get my work done in a more timely fashion. If not, i'll never be able to handle a job and a max credit load 🙁

hey nubs..Lmfao....a couple things that you need... a PDA or a planner...a five star notebook and a good calendar....maybe a couple folders to for each course...that should help ya out! IM me on AIM for more info!

peace

DUH!!! I just found my data sheet. It was *gasp* right where it should have been...in perfect order. I was so expecting it to be elsewhere 😡

Why won't my damn vacation start already? *sniff*

🙄 Nubs....get your illness infested ass together!

Hey Nubian,

I'm really disorganized too and this past semester I decided I had to get my act together so I wasn't going insane anymore losing stuff.

So for my classes with tons of handouts I got a binder and one of those portable hole puncher things and made a good attempt to try to punch the handouts and put them in when I got them each day in class. The fact that my friends wanted to use the puncher too helped to get me to do it. For other classes I got notebooks and a huge box of those cheap manilla filing folders and just jammed stuff into them for each class. It was hella disorganized within the folders but at least when exams came around I had a folder for each class and only had to dig thru them to find things instead of hunting down loose papers. I am pressed for space too so I just stacked all the folders in a corner of my room with my books and knew where they were. Anyway, it probably would have been a totally disorganized and messy system for many people but for me it was a huge improvement and worked wonders for my sanity. I highly recommend filing folders and binders 🙂

dis disorganization sounds very much like me....hehe 😀 how about getting a pda to help u organize stuff?

I'm a total slob. Really. And my s.o. is even worse than me- by far. In order to make sure that my school stuff is relatively organized, I make sure there are only two places I put school stuff- on my desk, and on top of my stereo in bed, where I study (yeah, I know you're not supposed to study in bed, but there's really no other room, not even at my desk).
I will periodically clean my desk and move everything to where it's "supposed" to be- in file cabinets for old paperwork, bookshelves for books I've finished (or out in the hallway if it's a book that's not for school- my building has an unofficial sharing policy for anything residents don't want anymore but are still useful). So, even though everything else isn't where it's supposed to be, my school stuff is. Oh yes, and separate binders for each class is a must- in college and beyond, there's just to much stuff for one folder.

With everyone suggesting you get a PDA I'll through out a little advice.

First of all, there is no need to waste extra money for a color PDA. Furthermore, the color screens give out more quickly.

Secondly, I would recommend that you do not purchase a PDA with less than 8mb of memory. Additionally, be sure to get one that can have additional memory added (expandable memory slot), such as the Palm Handhelds(excluding the m130 and the Zire), or a Handspring Visor (newer than a deluxe). Whatever you do, make sure it is using the latest Palm version OS.

I just bought a Handspring Visor Platinum 8mb PDA on Ebay for less than $100(shipping included). In addition to keeping its memo pad and To Do list constantly active, I have downloaded the Acrobat Reader, and have a bacteriology textbook in PDF format on that. (Hey, with it's backlit display I can even study in the dark!!!) I hope to get a wireless modem from Sprint next year, so that it can double as a cell phone with internet-surfing capabilities. WOO-HOO!

At any rate that's how a guy on a budget does it. If you've got the money to blow, I would suggest going into you local computer store and buying a Compaq or HP COLOR PDA running Pocket PC. Now that's Luxury!!!😉

I must be a total cavewoman, because I have never used a PDA!!!!

Im definately going to try and go all binders next semester. I seem to take neater notes on loose paper, plus i have one of those handy hole punchers myself 🙂

Im also going to have to invest in some underbed boxes to put my old books in so that i can get some new book space. Things are definately getting cramped in here!

Im going to get a fresh start and try and be more organized this spring semester!

Do you have roomies that are leaving their crap all over the place as well? Is it possible to get a larger place for next year?

Well, you could always use the old fashioned paper-based Day-Minder with plastic cover featuring the fancy insignia of your school on the front cover!

I find it to be just as useful as a pda and you can use a real pen and real writing, although it is difficult to hotsync it.
