I can't find list of national GPA and MCAT for Osteopathic schools

Does anyone have a list of osteopathic schools averages for MCAT and GPA? I can't seem to find a recent one. THanks

OP you can also go to princetonreview.com and most schools have their stuff listed.

You can pay $15 and get that info from http://grad-schools.usnews.rankings.../grad/directory/dir-med/dirmedindex_brief.php.
US News includes a lot more info about the schools and that's why it costs $15 and PR is free.

I was feeling nice, so here's the GPA/MCAT averages from US News & World report for Fall 2005 admissions. I think this is the most up to date stats the US News has, for now.

Some of the numbers posted are not terribly accurate. I would suggest checking individual school websites for most recent and accurate data. Example: DMU's class of 2011 (2007 data) has an average MCAT of 27 and average GPA of 3.65.

Yeah, you're right, but that's only +1 point overall on the MCAT average for DMU. I'd say that the 2005 numbers I posted from US News aren't that far off.

Not really. From what I've seen, the numbers from US News are in line with information available on the schools websites. Have you seen different numbers somewhere or are you just surprised at schools with lower MCAT averages, like PCSOM, VCOM and WVSOM?

I am personally surprised by how low some of those averages are, particularly for the MCAT. If those are averages, then that means people are scoring below that......22s and 23s are pretty low. Hell, I scored a 21 on my diagnostic after not having many of the classes for 3 or 4 years.

those stats are way too old to represent admissions now. Those figures were posted in 2004 so thats about 4 years old. I wouldnt go by those stats. I'm sure they a higher now for those schools.

Also, remember that people here on SDN are more likely to have higher stats than the average applicant (that and SDNers only comprise ~4% of people applying to med school).

Maybe the stats don't seem that shocking to me because I have a sh*tty MCAT.

I have also seen on occasion schools self reporting accepted student data rather than matriculant data. These numbers would be very different also as higher stats people would tend to drop out of the data pool for matriculant data.

These are the numbers that USNews collected regarding the fall 2005 matriculating class, which USNews reported in 2007, calling it the 2008 report.

nice status.... unfortunatly, they don't represent today's much increased competition for medical schools (DO / MD)

Most of those numbers (GPA wise) seem to be accurate, but the MCATs seem a bit low
