I don't know where to post this, but did anyone applied to VCU?

Hi,

I sent in the pharmcas application off several weeks ago. I did the early decision and applied to VCU. I'm retaking the pcat and finishing off my microbio degree. It has been 12 days and I haven't heard anything from VCU. I don't know where to post this subject in the SDNF. I'm just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as I am. Waiting period is cruel. I think the committees should just pick up the phone and reject me right after they review my file. I don't really want to wait until Oct. 31st to get the letter in the mail!!!

Hey Jiepper,

I am going to assume that you sent off all the other required information along with your PharmCAS application and it was received in time for the early decision date. You will be informed either way on whether or not you are invited for an early decision interview. If you are, then good for you. If not, do not lose hope as your application will be rolled into the regular decision applicants. That may seem bad, but they do hold early decision applicants to higher standards than regular decision.

Most likely you will be contacted regarding your status in early October. In the mean time, be sure to compile applications for other schools in case you are either rejected or rolled into regular admissions where you are no longer bound to come to MCV.

There is really nothing you can do about the waiting time aside from complain about it. Then again, complaining doesn’t solve the problem anyways so you really just have to deal with it and try to stay in good spirits. One of my friends applied to MCV, got an early decision interview, was rolled into regular decision, and then accepted three months later. I guess the point is just because you are waiting doesn’t mean bad things are going to happen.

Prepare like a pessimist, expect like an optimist.
