I don't mean to be annoying but..

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't mean to be rude but how are we supposed to know what the admissions committee is thinking?

First things first. If they haven't sent you a rejection yet then you are fine so take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Many schools will continue to send out interview invitations throughout the year and sometimes past December to find students to fill up the class. Chances are they are holding onto your application and have given you some thought. You already got past the hard part, taking the DAT, so sit back and relax and enjoy this last month of summer.

What are your stats? What did you do to improve your application this cycle?

go for a walk, come back and drink a cold one somewhere outside, eat something, then call/email each school about your application and asked them if it is competitive enough..

and like others have already said, it isn't even august yet (although tomorrow is gonna be august 1st lol) but relax! there is still plenty of time 🙂

... call/email each school about your application and asked them if it is competitive enough...
Almost all schools that I applied to sent emails asking to not get in touch with admissions staff about this so do it at your own risk. If you ask that question you may get a flat out no from whoever is on the other end of the line because they will assume that you are not competitive enough to have to call and ask about it. You most likely will not get an email response either and if they are kind enough to send one they will probably send you a link about their average incoming class stats and a reminder to not contact them about your application strength. Do call the schools and see if they have a complete application for review and make sure nothing is missing that could be holding up the application process.

Im on the same boat its killing meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Your stats are solid enough and you have really good ECs so I would consider you competitive, at least from seeing other people's stats on SDN. The anxiety of wanting to just know is a real killer. Best thing you can do, and pretty much the only thing, is call to follow up on you application materials to make sure it's all there. Go back to the AADSAS application and look over whatever you can to see if you find anything missing or even the schools websites to see if you forgot anything to include as a supplement.

For those asking for my stats..

3.67 overall GPA
3.51 science GPA

PAT 18
AA 20
TS 20
RC 22

Hundreds of dental related and non dental related volunteer hours. Hundreds of work hours. 120 shadowing hours.

Currently work at a dental clinic as a receptionist and also work as a make up artist.

Second time applying. I applied in late September last time to only 6 schools. Never had an interview.

It's really difficult to relax..

Last cycle was probably due to amount of schools and somewhat later date, you should fare better this cycle.

I ran across your post in the Official Interview thread. Is it possible that the schools are viewing you as a non-resident student?

I can't believe that you did not get an interview - your stats are so perfect and solid!

What do you think was your MAIN mistake during your first time applying? what did you do wrong?

You said that you applied to six different dental schools - were they all in California? If so, remember that California Medical and Dental Schools are the MOST competitive to get into. Everyone wants to go to California.

You mentioned something about your citizenship - was that the main problem with your first time application?

You only applied to six schools - that is so little - the average applicant applies to 12 - 15 different dental schools all across the nation.

I applied to 15 different dental schools, and receive eight interview invitations.

Please apply to more schools. Your stats are AMAZING.

Also depends on what ur personal statement was like and what on earth you wrote that might cause red flags. There's just insufficient info to answer ur question.

You applied to 23 schools? Make sure you don't tell the ADCOMs that...

Don't worry......I applied in the 2nd batch last cycle with very good stats and received nothing until the last week of August. I understand it can be nerve wracking when you feel like you've done everything in your power and all you can do is wait, but if you truly have done your due diligence in making yourself a competitive applicant like you seem to have done you should be fine. I ended up getting 10 interviews (6 pre-dec) so realize there's still plenty of time for you to get lots of interviews. Start worrying when October rolls around and you still haven't gotten anything....
