I am near on my 30th and I haven't finish school yet. Anyways I am not here asking for petty. Just venting that I am sooo stupid and waste so much time basically doing nothing for the past years.

So if anyone can give me some info, I would appreciate it.

You should change the thread title to "OMG I am 30 yr old and still in school". If you are in pharmacy school, just be grateful you are better off than most people.

The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles. Any other info you would like?

I am not in pharmacy school and I am not even attending any college.

To be quite honest all I have is a High School Diploma.

A minimum salary job here and there.

I have 3 years of pharmacy tech experience. Yes I want to be a pharmacist.

That's it? Hmm... it's not very big..

The first step would be going to talk to an academic advisor about your plans and figuring out what courses your local community college offers and enroll! You do not need to be set on pharmacy right off the bat. Most of the medical fields all have the same prereq courses, so if you change your mind along the way and want to do physical therapy, dental hygeine, dentist, physician, PA, nurse, opto, vet, etc it will all apply.

You have to make that first step and go see an advisor and layout a plan for next few years on how you will complete all the prereq courses. Continue looking for a pharmacy tech position while you are in school, money and experience are nice.

Realize the pharmacist path is going to take 6-8 years. Decide if you are willing to accept that and not be angry/depressed the entire time because of your age while in school.

Work hard and make the grades.

Well keep in mind that the formula for the surface area of a sphere is 4pr2
. So square the radius and you have a pretty large planet. The circumference number is deceptively small. Of course then you have to consider what percentage of the surface is actually habitable, blah, blah, blah.

Plus our planet is not a perfect sphere; it is larger around the equator than it is from pole to pole, but mathmatically I doubt it is not significant. Pretty cool though.

Well...I say that because I fly about 100,000 miles per year.. about 4 times around the globe I guess.

oh 🙁 I know you said you wanted no pity, but you seem so sad. You should just keep on truckin without regard to what amount of time has been burnt. Yes, its understood life is short, but what if somebody 10yrs younger than you that did not waste as much time, just so happens to live 10yrs less than you? Then it was all relative..right? (or maybe they have to live 20yrs less than you..😕....now I'm confused.) Anyway, it is never too late to change your mind or achieve your goals, keep your chin up. 👍

No practical advise from me. I have been there. Life's not easy. Some make it; some don't. Good luck to you.

This. OP, your situation is sad, but there's only one person who can make it better: YOU. Get busy.

I don't pity you for being 30 and having only a high school diploma. A lot of people are like that. I pity you for having this attitude about it. And until you fix your outlook, you're going to be miserable, I promise you.

Stop being lame - If you want something - Go get it. No one is going to give it to you.

Here's a tip: learn English better. It'll help you a lot.

There are plenty of rich people that are in their 30+ with no college education. Go into investment banking or commercial real estate or sales director.

Right because those are SUPER easy careers for someone in their 30's with a HS diploma go into and become rich. How does one "go into" sales director, anyway?

He actually said "petty" which brings me to my next point.
:troll:

Seriously, this has to be. "I am near on my 30th and haven't finish school." And the thread title, too. Grammar and spelling are pretty important for any field. Even if you haven't been to college, you should be able to coherently put together a few sentences after high school.

 SHC you know i love ya girl, but you say some funny **** sometimes. To get into IB you have to have family ties and be top 1% in your class at Harvard Law or business. The other two you need typically need an MBA with loads of career experience to land.

Jesus, the OP and this response make this thread so ridiculously hilarious.

I completely agree, I know 2 people who died in the past year at a pharmacy school near me. One died right after he graduated, started work as Kroger and died on his way to work ironically, he was 26.

And the other died this past summer at 24, he was a P3.

So it's really what you make of your life.

My goodness! That's terrible!

Not to be distasteful, but how is dieing on your way to work ironic?

There is a guy in my class, his father is a commerical real estate agent and he doesn't have a MBA degree.

The point is the OP obviously just wants a job that pays a ton of money and he wants to feel successful and I am sure he wants the prestiage too. Pharmacy isn't the career you go into if you want those things. The jobs that I listed will better provide the OP with money and the feeling of being successful.

You don't need an MBA to be a real estate agent, but being a successful agent requires YEARS of hard work, networking, and some degree of luck. Most people in real estate will never make as much money as a pharmacist makes. And there is nothing prestigious about showing houses all day, every evening, every weekend, etc. That's what it's like, at least at first.

I think the problem people have with your suggestion is that you make it sound like someone can say "Oh hey, I'm going to be an investment banker" and waltz into a job making big bucks. It doesn't work that way.

So please, for the benefit of all of us, tell me how someone with a HS diploma and (we presume) no useful networking contacts, or family connections, can become successful in the fields you've listed, when the vast majority of individuals in those fields never make the big time.

Why not go into being a movie star or lottery winner?

Those are FANTASTIC ideas. But I'm aiming higher. I'm going to go into being a CEO or maybe being the Pope. Yes! That's the ticket. With God on my side, I won't NEED all that money anyway! 😀

I have some bad news on the pope front, unless you have some surgery, it ain't gonna happen.

Just start a new religion and be the pope of your own religion. Think of all the tax breaks. You'll be rich!

I had a classmate in undergrad told me his girlfriend is in investment banking making over six figures. He was only 26 yrs old and his girlfriend was 24. I don't know if he is lying or not.

Okay, maybe those jobs aren't easy to get. I think I am just having doubts about my choice in pharmacy (mainly cuz my lecture today was so over my head....today was the first day that pharmacy school work has actually been "hard" for me to understand) and wish I choosed investment banking or real estate. Just to try something different.

I meant it was ironic because he put all this effort to be at that point and right when he achieved his goal he passed away.

Maybe there was ice and he had a bad sPILL.
I'm not sure, but it was in May, I think it had something more to do with speeding, although I can't say for certain. Here's the news article. It is sad.

Eeek. :scared:

No, I guess I'm ok with the way I am... even if I can't be the Holy Father.

I would make a crack about being the Holy Mother but that role has been filled. Sorry you missed the boat.

Suck it up and just focus on what you are doing now. Don't dwell on the past. Focus on what you want to do in the future and I promise you it'll pay off.

Excuse me for my english grammar. English is my second languange. Beside there are pharmacist out there even doctors who can't even speak english right.

I speak english fluently just having some grammar issues. Yes pretty sound stupid.

The reason why I stopped school was due to personal family emergency. My grandmother was ill and I have to take care of her and some other family emergency related issues. 🙁 I have some college credits but not enough to transfer to UC or States.

Oh
okay...then it's reasonable. Family is important. So just move on with ur life. You're doing great. At least you're not in jail bending over for a black dude from behind. You're doing great...trust me.👍 . Your English is great, at least it's better than mine. At least you can express yourself when you're frustrated/mad. As of me, I only can say two words when I am frustrated and mad. These words start with "Sh" and "F".

Now I'm curious. What was the lecture topic?

I am going to be a motivational speaker and get millions of americans to believe that what I say will change their lives 😀 I will charge 200 dollars a person for my seminars 😀
