When I came home from work today, I had an interview invitation waiting for me in my email inbox. It briefly went over what to expect and what not. I can not begin to describe how excited/relieved I am to finally receive an interview invite.

I consider myself an average candidate, so for all of you still waiting, continue to be patient.

Stats:
GPA: 3.30
sGPA: 3.12

DAT:
TS: 20
AA: 20
PAT: 18

I've shadowed general dentists, an orthodontist, and an oral surgeon and I've worked in an ortho lab for a year.

Keep the faith guys/gals

Congratulations on the Interview!!

Two questions if u dont mind:

When did you submit your application to AADSAS?
When was your application file complete at NYU?

I submitted my AADSAS in the middle of June without my LOR's. I sent my LOR's through my school in the beginning of August. I would say that my file was complete at NYU and the other schools late August/early September.

Congratulations and good luck in your interview.

Edit: I love New York City. People are nice and liberal...wish it was cheap

I heard that there are quite a few interviewers at NYU that are complete d*cks...any truth to this?

yes and no, yes they are hard on you, but the reason behind that is for them to see how you hold up under pressure.

I submitted my application in the end of june, and took my dat's at the beginning of august, and got a 17PAT, 20TOTAL, 20SCIENCE, with a 3.86 GPA through AADSAS, and have been working as a dental manager at non-profit clinic for over a year, and still have not heard anything back from NYU. I got a letter from them in early september. Any one wants to give their input on this situation? I also did not get any interviews from UW, UoP, CU, USC, Tufts, NOVA, but I got an interview at OHSU. Any ideas guys??😕

wow you have a pretty high gpa. good job! and what do you mean by dental manager? as in manager of the clinic?

Thank you for the compliment. I manage a non-profit community clinic, as in buying supplies, recruiting dental providers (dentists, hygienists), train undergrad pre-dental students to be assistants, assist, write policies and procedures, schedule patients, and everything else pretty much that happens in the dental office except for insurance billing and doing the actual procedures. I'm just worried that I got only one interview at OHSU and I applied to UW, OHSU, NYU, CU, Tufts, USC, UoP, and Nova and my application went out COMPLETE from AADSAS in early August.
