Here's the deal: I was scheduled to take step I on June 25, but had to reschedule for July 31 because I was totally unprepared. My downfall was my compulsion to master EVERYTHING I read (including the minutiae(don't ask me why, but I read ALL of big Robbins in a month)); hence, I only really got through one subject (path). With my ability to extract the "big picture" in question, I'm contemplating doing the Kaplan Webprep program, having them tell me what I need to know.

For those who've done it or the live lecture series, was it worth the money? How well did it prepare you for the big test? Did you supplement your studies with any other resources? Thanks

You read ALL of big Robbins in a month??!!! Are you nuts? 😱 :wow: :wow: Impressive....

The problem with step I is the sheer volume....no matter what, you cannot retain everything. Most people I know got to a point while studying where they started to forget previously studied subjects due to the amount of time that had passed and so forth. You can't retain all of big Robbins---that's why there are step I review books for path and pathophys. I admire your tenacity to actually not give up part way through.

I am not familiar with Webprep....do you intend to just use webprep/Kaplan for the next month or are you also going to study in "traditional" ways as well? I know a lot of people who got the review books, since that allowed them to follow their own pace versus the lecture pace...

Just master every little detail in first aid, and you will be fine. But I definately think that the online web course is made for you.

To Back34: Are your initials A.A.? If they are let me know, and I will give you some specific advice that is guaranteed to help you out. If your initials are not A.A., then my comments would be a little different.

Nope, not A.A., but some advice would be great.

Yeah, something like that. I actually think I border on OCD, e.g., I won't buy used books because they've already been read / marked up.

Here's my advice: you already know your path cold. For the step 1, that's more than half the game right there. Now throw everything else away and go through First Aid and memorize that. If you know your path, everything else you need is in first aid. Just go through first aid pharm, microbio, biochem, etc etc and combine that with the path which you have already studied the hek out of, and you will literally ace the step 1. You dont need microbio textbooks, you dont need to memorize katsung for pharm, etc etc. Just learn everything in first aid and you will ace it. Most of the harder questions are far out path questions anyway, so you will get them.

hi....
first aid will get you through....
i 've taken the webprep series.........it definitely helped
