For those who got 19s and 18s on you DAT and got in....where did you apply? And where did you get in?

I knew someone who had those scores and got into BU...but that was last year 🙁 Sorry! Plus, he had a 3.6 sci GPA

On a happier note, even though each cycle gets crazier and crazier, it is not as dire as most people think. If you have at least a 3.3 with those scores and apply REALLY earlier, I mean, you practically hand-deliver your application to their door by June, then you should get into a few of the less competitive schools.

I applied to 10 schools on May 27. Then added 2 more in June. Then added 2 more in July. Finally, the last school I added was on December 3rd and that was the school I got into!

I got 18AA/19TS/18PAT/19RC/18BIO/21GCHM/19OCHM/15QR

Overall GPA: 3.25
Science GPA: 3.17
BCP GPA: 3.35
Post Bac GPA (~last 100 credits): 3.72

But, remember, it's not always just stats! I had 4 excellent LOR's, 2 Research projects (1 to be published), Co-founded/President of pre-dental society, Worked as dental assistant for 1.5 years, Some (not much) volunteering....

I got interviewed at Nova, Case Western, and NYU. I got "high alternate list" at Nova, put "On Hold" at Case, and Accepted to NYU.

In the past, it seemed like these stats would have been good enough to get into at least a couple of schools. Hence, that's why I didn't re-take the DAT's. But now, it seems as though these stats are not going to be good enough for the cycles to come. I feel really blessed to have gotten in this cycle.

For those who didn't score at least 19's, I would really re-consider taking the DAT's again. Unless, your GPA is above 3.5...then, in my opinion, you can afford 18's. 👍

i got into two schools...peep my stats or go to predents.

Are you applying for the '07 cycle?

Hi...I am applying to the '07 cycle this May but I can't take the DAT until July. Would this affect my application standing? I heard that they won't look at your application until everything is turned in.

ya im applying this cycle... I figure 2-3 months of good hard studying for the DAT should be fine when i take it sometime in mid-late july... If you take it at the first of august or before august, u should be fine because DAT scores only take a couple weeks to get to the schools whereas the AADSAS can take more like 2 months

Got a 3.6 cummulative and a 3.4 sgpa.....which is more important, would they consider that above 3.5?

My DAT scores were as follows: AA19, TS19, PAT24, Bio21, RC20, QR16, OC19, GC18. I was interviewed at USC, Case, Creighton, Marquette, Arizona, Michigan. Accepted to USC, Case, Arizona. Waitlisted at Creighton and Marquette. Withdrew at Michigan.

It can be done with a 19, but my advice to you is to not try and squeak by.

It really depends...because some schools will weigh one over the other. In my opinion, I think the overall cumulative GPA weighs more, but not by much! I would have to venture out and say that with those GPA's you could afford getting 18's and 19's and get in pretty comfortably...

I think this year, some schools had a cut off of 19AA/19TS...so, try hard to get above 18's.

I got a AA19 TS20 PAT19 BIO19 QR17 RC19 OC20 GC20. I sent my app in early at the end of May. I had interviews at Temple, Usc, VCU, Case, Oklahoma, UNLV, Pittsburgh and Tufts. I didnt' go toall of them and got accepted to Case, Temple, Vcu and USC. If you ask me, a 19 was just fine. Sure 20+ would had been better but you are still competitive with a 19. Get your app in early though whatever DAT score you get. I know guys who got 21+ in september and good gpas and will be applying in 07 due to late apps.

20's would be nice, but i dont think a 19 will earn you a rejection from any schools.... keep in mind a 19 might not be the factor that earns you an acceptance either....especially if you are lacking in other areas (GPA, etc.)....my stats are in my signature....

Hey man you know who this is call me about the research. PEACE

I had a total score of 19, and a GPA of 3.3 for both overall and science. I got interviewed at BU, Tufts, Temple, and UConn. Got waitlisted at UConn, accepted at BU, Tufts and Temple. I never heard anything from NYU at all, and I got rejected from Penn and Columbia. Definately check Predents.com for a baseline of where to apply based on your stats, but with a 19, I'm pretty sure you'll get in places if you apply early. I applied on July 4th.

I also had 19/19/19 (including a 16 in bio-not so good) still managed get in at BU, waitlist at IUSD, Creighton, Temple, even thought i applied really late. overall gpa was a 3.42, 3.3 science. I think the outcome wouldve been much better had I applied early. And I wont have a bachelors by matriculation.
