Hi!

My girlfriend is interested in going into nursing... she's finishing up her degree in Sociology right now with pretty good grades. Can anyone tell me about the differences b/w the level of education, earning potential, recognition etc comparing Canada (ie Ontario/GTA) and the United States? I would also like to find out if it is easier to get into Canadian nursing schools, or American nursing schools (in general). I imagine that the cost of education in the USA is much greater than in Canada.... is it worth it for a Canadian student? HOw is the job market in CAnada (Ontario) and in the USA? I'm sure these questions seem kinda elementary to most of you, but I know NOTHING about nursing, so I'd appreciate any help I could get.

Thanx!

The US is much more desperate for RN's than Canada. Thus I do believe that the salary is higher. My mothers an RN in the GTA and she has been offered free housing, large benefit packages and very nice salaries to come to the US. She just doesnt care to move.
