so im slightly stressed out, ive finished my secondaries mostly awhile ago, but my files just got complete due to some negligent profs who are writing my letters, i feel like im so damn late in this process and i wanted to know if anybody was in the same boat

I was in the same boat till two weeks ago. Luckily, Vandy didn't require LORs and so I got to go to that. Due to this kindly, but rather slow prof, I only just complete at every school - except freaking Yale. I don't think I'll ever be complete at Yale. Quite frankly, if my status doesn't change by the end of the month, I will demand a refund of my money.

But I digress. I just got an invite from Northwestern two days ago. It's been silence since then. Still, I am hopeful that stuff will start to slowly roll in. You've got to stay positive and patient. Keep busy. Check your e-mail once every two days. Reward yourself each time you are able to do this. I bought myself a new shirt last week for going four days and checking my e-mail only twice.

In the mean time, I have sent thank-you cards to all my recommenders - including Mr. late-guy-with-best-intentions-who-sometimes-smells-of-e.coli

Best of luck.

yeah i gave one of my profs essentially 9 months to write me a letter. and he was still a couple of months late.

im in the same situation.......finished everything early august, and my last letter that every school is waiting send a few days ago........and its gonna take them a billion years to put it in their system.......... 👎 🙁

I was in the same boat until yesterday. My LORs FINALLY got sent out to all my schools because my undergrad bio office sends all my letters as a compliation, and I was waiting on ONE letter for the longest time. Dont' worry though, because these things were out of our control. I took the wait as an opportunity to spend a little more quality time with my secondaries instead of rushing them.

Could be worse.
My committee packet was a couple days from going out when Hurricane Ivan hit and practically destroyed my PreMed advisor's office. Set me back at least 6 weeks.
