I'm going through the decks and it says the sublingual gland is a mucus gland. My Kaplan book says its mixed but mostly serous. BUT, in the margin of the Kaplan book on the same page it says that the sublingual gland is mostly mucus secreting. I think its mostly mucus from what we learned in class.

Have you guys seen mistakes like this in these review books or decks? I can't stand this.

hey, yes you are right. I noticed the same thing. review book DOES have some mistakes.
for the record
parotid gland and von ebner glands are predominantly serious w/ mucus demulines
submandibular -mixed- 50/50
sublingual-mixed, predominantly mucus 75/25
all others( buccal/labial) are mixed

Von ebner purely serous.

I guess you find that out as you go along studying , that is why is not so good to study from just one source

You are right except that Parotid and von ebner's are purely Serous.

no parotid is entirely serous, I failed the NBDE and I know that........

ok, what was that? just because you're bitter doesnt mean you be mean to people. that reply was NOT NEEDED.

First of all, my apology to anybody who was wrongly informed due to my mistake.
Second, Verticalbitewin maybe u came to these forums and made comments like these to other people, and thats why you are having to take the exam twice; i dont want to make your mistake, so I think i'll be logging out of this conversation
I encourage others not to fall into these traps of pointless arguements; no one comes out with any knowledge, just arguements and insults

It was an honest mistake. Take everything you see on the internet with a grain of salt. If you are depending on everyone on SDN to answer your questions, don't be disappointed if you are wrong in the end. Look it up in a textbook to be sure.
