hi everyone
I was wondering which residency program takes the shortest period of time and on average how much do people make after the four years of medical school I am asking this question only because i think I will be in great financial debt. Also when do doctor start making good money?(I have been accepted into medical school and I thought I should know how much money I will be making especially after the debt that I will be in)
thanks

The shortest residencies are three years, although you can get a medical license and practice as a general practitioner in many states after only completing one or two years.

As for the amount of money you'll make, that's extraordinarily variable and depends on several factors, chief among them being your specialty and type of practice.

If you're just getting ready to start medical school, this is not the time to worry about such details. Worry about getting your feet under you in school. Also, you shouldn't base your specialty choice on how short the residency is, and earning potential should be one of many factors that you consider. Using those two things as your sole decision criteria will likely land you somewhere you don't want to be.

Also, the very shortest residencies are generally associated with the lowest compensation. (SDN: please don't flame me with all your examples of how this is untrue. Note that I said "generally," and also that I don't care.)

If your goal is to make lots of money and accrue less educational debt, go to business school.

=/. I really think these are wrong questions to be asking especially if you haven't been accepted to medical school yet. The field you choose should be something you are passionate about because in medicine, you'll be in it 24/7. Even if you aren't working, you'll still be reading the latest literature and keeping yourself up to date at home. You might also be catching up on notes or whatever work you still have.

Holy run-on sentences! If you are looking to get rich quick, you’re in the wrong field.

How did you get accepted to medical school if you don't understand the process at a minimal level? This is what's wrong with the process, these snowflakes are green.

Understand that you have "an" issue.
"An" may be an understatement in your case.

I suspect he was accepted to a non US medical school that would like to take advantage of him. They might have accepted him to their 'medical school' right out of high school.

Per her MD app she's an older female RN who has been accepted to USF.
