**EDIT : Oops I mean I only have 1 science.

Hi I am applying for the 2012 cycle (currently accepted into an SMP). I have a 3.3 gpa and a 33 mcat and great ECs/ Leadership. I have a letter from a science professor, a physician I know very well ...started a non profit with, and also an English professor.

I am assuming since i got into a moderately competitive smp that my letters are all good but I have noticed for a lot of osteopathic schools they ask for two physician letters. Am i screwed without the second letter?

I don't know of any that require 2 physician letters.

It's either 1 committee letter, or 2 science professors. + 1 DO/MD letter, not 2 doctor LOR

News to me...I've only read the some specify for a D.O. letter or from a physician LOR in general. You're fine.

Oops I think thats what I meant.. 2 science, I only have 1. Sorry its been awhile since I researched the requirements and now im scrambling to get everything ready.

Do you have any undergrad teachers you used to see in office hours? My advisor suggested sending them an email telling them you were a former student, went to office hours, did well, and would like to ask for a letter, they may not remember you, but if you tell them you went to office hours they will assume you did and may ask you to come in for a quick interview to get to know you.. although the letter is better from someone who really knows you, this is a good approach if you don't have any other options.

I did this.

Got a crappy letter, but I have 5 other good letters. This second crappy science letter is just to get foot in door.

If you're going into a SMP program, why don't you wait to apply next year when you can get a good letter from one of your SMP's science professors? To gamble and apply using a probably generic letter from some long-ago professor who may/may not remember you seems like a waste of money.
