YEs it happens I got pulled off the waitlist late in August. I am going to a good school, and I just wanted to let some others on SDN that it is possible to get pulled in late. Just keep sending updates I did once a month after my interveiw. That turned out to be like 5 or 6 months.

Screw everyone who said it wouldnt happen. Much love to everyone else. Good luck all.
