In the midst of everything happening, it's nice to see a couple of emails from AMCAS. I'm sorry if others think I'm gloating but I was just sooo anxious. In case you are wondering, I submitted August 7th. Maybe a swarm of verifications is coming.

Hey I got some Red X's on my schools attended, transcript requests, and coursework sections. What exactly does this mean? Does it imply I might soon get verified, and if it does, how soon will this happen. Last week I asked the specialist dude at AMCAS whether or not I should expect to get verified by christmas. No kidding.

I submitted on 6/26. I have had no red Xs - nothing at all. Today I got the following bloody email:

Hi, your application has already been sent the medical schools unverified , the schools have made an agreement with AMCAS to accept the unverified copies of the application as official documents.However later in the fall season we will go back and verify all unverified applications and submit a new copy to the designated schools.

Please let us know if you have any additional concerns

I waited for two and a half weeks (after I got the Red Xs) before I got verified.

Thanks Patch. 2 and half weeks is waaay better than waiting till Christmas. I hope I'm not being overly optimistic in assuming that I'll have the same turn-over rate as you. With my buddy AMCAS there are no answers.

oddly enough i emailed amcas 7 times last week about my application (since they never reply) and this time got a response to each one!! they basically said they would go back and verify my app. "later in the fall season" (i submitted 7/5) im a little upset that august submitters are being verified before me. where's the fairness?

I just called SUNY Upstate, and they are waiting for verified AMCAS to start reviewing! When I mentioned that it may take a while, but a secretary stated that they receive VERIFIED apps every day. 🙁

Now this pisses me off. i submitted 7/13, but no change in anything yet.
Univ. Of Mich. talked about getting verified apps by the end of this year or early next year, and till then will grant conditional acceptances.

I submitted beginning of July, but added one school sept 4th. Now they say it will be "6-8 weeks following submition, which was 9/4."

Like that makes a lot of sense.
