I made huuge mistake on MWU-Illinois T_T help!

I can't believe I made this mistake...........I am baning my head on my keyboard..........

while I was describing how great ILLINOIS state was location wise.........I wrote Chicago!! T_T The campus is in Downers Grove......not Chicago..........and I already processed the fee....I checked for allllll the grammar mistakes, and I can't believe I missed this..

maby it's because I'm Canadian, and I am used to thinking the place in tourist's view (illinois=chicago)............arrrgg....

There is nooo way to fix this, is there?

Oh mannn that must feel sucky..
well.. for me, I sent out my UCLA supplemental... only to realize that I had misspelled a couple words....
the dread............ I hope they will overlook it.. although.. it is VERY unprofessional.. sigh.

i don't see what the big deal is. if you go on the program's website, you'll see something about the campus being relatively close to chicago, so clearly that's a selling point of the program. no need to worry 🙂

I agree.
but i always wondered if talking about the city and how great it will be to be there is a good point to make when explaining why you want to attend a specific school. I wonder how the adcom thinks of such answers.

Don't you sweat just yet, my Canadian friend. illinois definitely =/= chicago, but did you find Downers Grove on a map and see the distance to "the City", as the locals say?
It's approximately 25-30 miles- very close!

Even their website says, "...Study in suburban comfort and safety as you create a great life at Midwestern University's Downers Grove Campus, only 25 miles west of Chicago's metropolitan center..." My impression is that they view their relative location to Chicago as a big draw for prospective students, and you're discussing Chicago will be preaching to the choir. I wouldn't worry too much. Even if Chicago was 50 miles from Downers Grove, this would not be a lethal mistake.

For your own peace of mind, maybe you should call tomorrow to be certain that there is nothing you can do. Then try and move forward. Best wishes this cycle!

At least you didn't reference the MWU-AZ campus instead of the IL one. Downers Grove is only 20 miles from Chicago, so I dunno how you used it, but they might just think you're really stoked about being so close to Chicago.

Yeah, I thought Downers Grove's was really close to chicago? Now if you had mentioned a completely different city, there would have been something to worry about.

At least you didn't reference the MWU-AZ campus instead of the IL one. Downers Grove is only 20 miles from Chicago, so I dunno how you used it, but they might just think you're really stoked about being so close to Chicago.

I actually thought this was going to be the problem, when I first started reading.... turns out, there is no problem 😴

I am not sure how they would think...but for me, environment is a big factor that influences my education , both social and educational environment. 🙂 Also, I know dental schools worry about brain drain...how students move out of their state after graduation. (I heard this is big problem especially for schools in rural region). They probably worry about this even more towards international students like myself. So I wanted to make a point that I will most likely to live in a city where I graduate, and wrote that Chicago(cross cross) Downer Grove is where I might want to settle! 🙂

AHHH~~ yea~ i think that approach is good as opposed to just saying what a great city chicago is (or any city the school is at) 🙂

yeah this isnt a mistake. i talked about it being close to chicago and close to the ADA office and how awesome that is.
