WoooHooo.. 😀 😀 😀

University of British Columbia.

I should note: I'm a Californian graduating from a Canadian medical school who participated in both CaRMS (only for UBC) and NRMP (all Southern Cal programs).

Yep, it's a binding contract... but it was my top choice by far... it's an awesome program with 100% graduates going onto subspecialize... several in cards which is what I want to pursue. A few graduates even going to the US ultimately ending up in SoCAL at UCLA/UCI for fellowships.

What Canadian school did you graduate from?

A few? they have so many grads from UBC med residency running out of Canada?

sorry, I just don't like UBC med school. don't know much about their IM program. I just never heard of any prestigious training ground in Vancouver.

Well, I'm not going to defend UBC med school cuz I didn't go there nor do I know much about the program, I believe the school I went to was much stronger clinically and thus our 100% match rate.

As fas as the IM program is concerned, I spent a month doing cardio there last September and was very impressed... the graduates who went down to Cal were received very highly at UC fellowship programs... fellowship coordinator from UCI told me there top pick 2 yrs back was Canadian as well... it's a topnotch program in Canada and the exposure to HIV/ID and diverse pathology is awesome. Traditionally they stock up there IM program with locals, but this year it's very diversified which should make things even better. Again, they boast an excellent turnout when it comes to fellowships... so all the better.
