I don't know how many of you remember the website predents.com created by one of our fellow SDN members, but I was just thinking, and I miss the heck out of that website. For those of you that never got the opportunity to know predents.com, it was a website that included every dental school in the U.S., and you were able to create a profile including your GPA, DAT scores, and extracurricular activities. You were then able to select which dental schools you applied to, and subsequently which schools you were rejected/accepted/waitlisted to (among other things).

So I began to wonder, are there any SDN members out there that have experience in web design? That could maybe create a new predents.com? It was such a helpful resource back in the day, and now that it is time for me to apply, I am saddened that it no longer exists. I know that a lot of SDN'ers were a part of that website and I feel like we should try and resurrect it. I could pay for the domain name, if someone out there knew how to code and create a new one.

I know this is a long shot, but is there anyone out there willing to help participate in the revival of predents?

What do you guys think?

dds.studentdoctor.net

I did not know this website existed. But it is still not as helpful as predents.com in my opinion. Not as many people use this website as did predents 🙁

dds.studentdoctor.net just launched a few months ago. Predents had a few years to build a user base and I'm sure that since this site is affiliated with SDN and a sister site of MDapplicants, the number of users on it will rise as the application season progresses.

Right. I don't think most of class '17 applicants even knew about it.

Predents.com was better because it also stated the tuition and fees for residents\non-residents and also said how many OOS seats were available for each class..

It was basically an AADSAS Dental School Guide with applicants input. It was the tits to say the least.

The new sites aren't nearly as good

double post..

Chicka chicka yeah.

Which were often wrong. And the statistics weren't very helpful when you consider the small sample sizes, lying about stats, missing info, not updating, etc. I thought it was fairly overrated.

Yea all the new sites they tried to create are quite inferior to pre-dents!

Well it was still better than anything we have nowadays ay?
