I am currently in grade 12. In my life I have 3 career opportunities front of me.

The 3 opportunities that I have are :

1) Stay in Canada and do BBA or Bcom or Medical Science

2) Go to India and do Dentistry and come back to canada and updrade.

3) Go to India and do Veternairy and Come back to Canada and upgrade

What do you guys thing is the best thing for me to do.

I will also like to add that .. I am not really the smartest person.. But I do work hard. Also money is not a concern.

I'll bite.

Unfortunately, no one can decide for this for you, only you can. I'm not trying to be rude, but you know yourself the best and in the end, it's all about what's best for you. By "best" I mean "happy". Prestige and money can only only take you so far and are not worth it if you're unhappy with your career choice. You have probably heard this before, either from a parent, teacher, older sibling, or some coming-of-age feel-good movie -- but let me tell you that this is absolutely true.

The only way to find out if a career is right for you is the talk to people and shadow as much as you can, even though it might be a pain right now. It will be worth it to figure out what you want to do as early as possible. The only way to do that is to be proactive. Explore.

I wish someone said these things to me when I was your age. I would have done so much better my freshman year in college because I would have a goal in sight. I would have gotten myself into a 7-year program and saved myself an extra year -- not to mention it would have guaranteed me a spot in dental school if I met certain minimum criteria (which I would have gladly done, no matter how tempting it was to go out and party).

But people that are accepted into this 7-yr program deserve to have a seat saved for them because they knew what they wanted early on, especially at a time when most kids have no clue and just go to college because everyone else is going.

I hope this helps and I didn't come off as sounding too parental.

Thank you, that was help full. I have 1 more question. How much chemistry is involved in dentistry and veterinary science? Im in grade 12 and i am not the strogest in chem?

If I were you, I would go into large animal veterinary science in the US or Canada. By the time you finish your vet degree, the world will be a different place. There will be food shortage, there will be shortage of vets who specializes in large farm animals. Forget about small pets, you should go into vet science and work with the farmers (who will be commanding huge profit pretty soon).

Do what you think is most beneficial for you. Weigh your options and decide what:

1. What you will love
2. What you see yourself doing and accomplishing 20+ years from now

👍

Especially since money is not an issue.

Also, are you ok with living in India for the next 5-6 years? And will you be able to change your study habits and do well? Even if you barely get by in your coursework while in India, you obviously will have to clear licensing exams to practice in Canada.

You also may want to further research the process of pursuing higher education and becoming licensed in Canada with the Indian degrees.

And adding to this, science, vet medicine, and dentistry are TOTALLY different in every regard. It's like asking whether you should buy an Orange, an Apple, or a Pear, and which one we think would taste better. No one on SDN is more reliable to give that type of information more than you are.

You don't have to be the smartest person to accomplish these tasks. Hard work > over everything else.

Idk about Canada, but in the US you need a US dental degree to practice dentistry. You cannot use an out of country degree. I assume it is similar in Canada.
Personally I recommend you go the traditional route and avoid going to India.
