I just took nbme 18 and got a 217
(47 wrong = 76.5%)

Went through my incorrects
27 Path Questions wrong
4 of 5biostats Questions wrong (even though this is one my best sections on uworld)
12 Physio questions wrong

Most of my incorrects came from misreading / not understanding what the question was asking.

I have a lot of knowledge so why is my nbme so low?
I feel like everyone on here has done the Uworld FA Pathoma Goljan method like me and they’re getting solid 240s 250s on their nbmes... what am I missing?

Pre-Dedicated:
I finished my uworld first pass at 77%
Finished USMLERx at 75%
Uworld 1 assessment 3 weeks ago was a 230
(I know this over predicts)

Currently doing my second pass through uworld
4 blocks a day - getting 85-90% per block.

I have 2 weeks left
Trying to decide what to do next....

Potential ideas:
1. Just Finish my Uworld 2nd pass at 4 blocks a day
(Would finish 3 days before my exam)
2. Mix in some offline NBMEs and read through answers
3. Reread Pathoma (even though I don’t feel like this would’ve helped me with the questions I got wrong on the NBME)
4. Just start from the first page of firstaid and read cover to cover
5. Go through my RX wrongs

Suggestions?

This has been a marathon - and I’m at the home stretch.

Please help me finish strong in my last 2 weeks and get my NBME game up!
I’m really trying to hit my goal which is 240.

Appreciate the support and insight!

Seems to me like you’ve got a problem more so with nbme-style questions. You’ve got the knowledge based on your UWorld %s. I’d recommend doing another nbme and maybe doing it offline. Don’t worry about time and see if you are just having time management issues rather than concept issues. If it is just nbme issues, then you should try and pump out as many questions as possible.

How did you go about doing your first pass through uworld? That's a nice percentage score for your first pass so congrats. I wouldve expected a higher UWSA 1 score though if you had a 77% on your first pass considering the questions in uwsa1 are similar in difficulty. I just did the uwsa1 recently and I'm pretty sure getting a 77% in uwsa1 would get you in the upper 240's-lower 250's range. Are you sure this isn't a timing or nervousness issue?

Maybe ... sometimes if the answer doesn’t immediately jump out at me I get panicked and waste like 30 seconds panicking that I don’t know the answer ...

I’m constantly checking the clock during the exam ...

Hmmm Idk I’m not running OUT of time though... gonna take another nbme on Wed I’ll be 50% done with my second pass and try again ... thanks guys
