It's a serious forum but with most forums you have to take it with a grain of salt. And yeah most posters probably don't get out much, that's why they need help. I was skeptical myself at first until I watched the vh1 show on pickup artist and I was at a club talking to some eastern european model types when all the sudden this guy in some funky outfit busted out some lines straight from the show. Weather he got their digits or not I'm not sure but he did get them laughing and talking more then I did. You just have to pick and choose which lines as openers would work for you. One line that has always worked to get a group of girls to open up and talking is "who lies more guys or girls?" Then some how I would lead into some crazy stories in medicine about lying patients.

Oh yeah but never tell people you are a doctor or in med school that is just to cheesy, but if you have a good wingman he could drop that on them. Example after getting the girls talkin I'd introduce my wing by saying "this is my boy ______ he's one of the best ______ in town" then my wing would say to the effect that LD is a MD.

Yes if neither ones father, mother, piano teacher, nor guidance counselor is capable of teaching this this pick up art . There is no way in the world a sheltered nerd in medical academia has a good idea of how its done..
One line Ive seen is "Do you think magic really works?" {that may not be a bad opener}.. Long Dong I think your expertise is needed!

I don't know about that one, have you field tested it yet. Do you back it up with some magic tricks, I've seen this done before. I've used the "do you believe in love at first site," and the girl says yes or no I say "should I walk by again." This always gets them laughing at the least.

I'm more than confident to place a bet that Long Dong has a double moderator life on the pickup artist forum.

Hey treva,
It seems like you got plenty of physical activities already. If you are looking for something that is mentally engaging and fun, try chess. I picked up chess over the summer and joined a local chess club. It's really fun and you get to meet new friends apart from the med school crowd when you play in tournaments. There are alot of books and strategies written about chess so it's definitely a life long hobby.
