hey,

i am new to this SDN site, even tho I have been reading what you all have to say religiously for the past few months. I have recently been accepted to 2 schools. One is University of Detroit Mercy and the other is Nova Southeastern. I am having an extremely difficult time deciding, coming from Canada and i know that it is a difficult decision to make.

Could anyone who goes to these schools or people who have done research on these schools give me advice to help make a decision. I believe costs are very similar so that may not be the biggest issue for me. (I also am leaning towards specializing)

Thank you to anyone who can help me out

Hi,

I'm looking into applying to UDM -- could you please share your stats?

Hi there,
I'll be going to UDM next fall. It's a great school, really good clinical school. Detroit is closer to home, so I am not sure how big of factor that is for you although nothing beats Nova weather. Let me know if you have specific question about Detroit.

Yes, I concur. UDM is a good clinical school. Definately with lots of patients. It depends if you will have a car or not since Detroit has a lot of rough neighbourhoods and you don't want to get caught in one of them. But if you do have a car, commuting from Windsor is not bad at all!

Yah-E is at Nova. I believe he is a third year or something. Usually Yah-E provided good constructive, meaningful posts, so I recommend you asking him for a post about his school or search the forum for his posts on Nova. There ought to be plenty of info on it.
