maple: deciduous as red:_____
a) color b) pink c)ruddy d)apple

I thought the answer was A but the answer is D.

canoe : sailboat as iron : _____
a)metal b)forge c)element d)copper

the answer is d.

would you explain why this relationship works?
patient:ill as treatment: disease

Thank you!!

Hi, this seems like these are the analogies presented in Dr. Collins study kit. At first I thought that relationships was the main thing to know. However, it is more important to remember the analogies because I hear they may appear on the real thing. The English prof...told me so I think her name is Jane. She is one of Collin's affiliates.

My best guess to explanations:

maple: deciduous as red:apple

maple wood is brown and covers deciduous trees just like the color red encloses an apple

canoe:sailboat as iron:copper

2 types of boats and 2 types of metals

patient:ill as treatment: disease

A patient is usually the cause of an illness and a treatment is usually the cause of a disease.

A treatment causes a disease???? I don't think so. Are you sure this is written correctly. Can someone else explain this please?

I'm not really sure about the first one... A maple may be an example of a deciduous tree, and a red (apple) is one variety of apple?

For patient:ill as treatment: disease, my best guess is that you are not a patient unless you are ill. Likewise, you do not seek treatment if you do not have a disease. So, a general form could be, No A without B (in A:B).
