I NEED to be COMFORTED about my UConn interview

Hi everyone,
I had my UCONN interview the first week of December. I had heard they often get back to their applicants quite quickly (about 2-3) weeks. BUT i still haven't heard anything from them. Is it still to early to hear back, has anybody received a letter from uconn -- HOW LONG DID IT TAKE. Or should I just relax.....comfort me. 😀 🙁

It took UConn roughly four to five weeks to send my letter following the interview. So I would not get too worried. Plus, schools may be hesitant to send a letter out now if they know students are on winter break. Also, members of admissions staff may be on vacation due to the holiday season.

I know it sucks, but you just have to wait. My guess would be that you won't hear until the middle of January.

I agree. The middle of January is probably a realistic expectation. If you don't hear by then I would call them. I've heard a lot of adcoms say they don't do much around the holidays...1.) because students are on winter break, so won't be checking mail, and 2.) because adcoms are actually people and tend to go on break too. I interviewed at a school in mid-Dec that usually gives replies within 1-2 weeks, and they told us early Feb! So I wouldn't worry yet.

I interviewed at UConn in the last week of October and got my acceptance letter Dec 1. I also got a letter from them in which they "emphasize that you are one of our top acceptances" just last week. That was pretty cool 😛

If you interviewed in December, expect a response in mid-Jan at the EARLIEST!!!! because it is now the holiday season and everyone is on break. So .... two weeks in December are pretty much gone to holidays/festivities... and once people get back (Jan 5 probably) they are going to get started slowly.... I think you'll hear back in February to be honest.....
