ok here's the situation. It looks like I will have to defend my honors thesis this summer however those completing degree requirements in the summer won't have their degrees conferred until mid august. All of my requirements except for the thesis will be complete this spring and my thesis defense complete before the end of may. Therefore all of my degree requirements will be met before matriculation but I won't officially have my degree til after. Will this hurt my acceptance?

No. Just make sure an official letter from your school stating that all degree requirements have been met gets to the medical school before day 1 of class. Go talk to your advisers and request this : I was in the exact same situation last year, and got this done.

OR, ask your school to put a rush on it. You don't need your diploma, just a transcript that says at the bottom "degree awarded xx date"

Even then, it's unlikely to matter. Fact is, you don't need a college degree to get a medical license or go to medical school. You only need to have taken the pre-requisite courses and roughly 90 credit hours. The school may retain the right to renege your acceptance if you haven't finished the academic program you stated you were in on your application, but in practice they have no reason to do so. Especially since you have finished it, but the paperwork isn't ready yet.

It shouldn't matter as long as you get your transcripts in before matriculation. I would e-mail the registrar or whoever handles these matters at your future school and explain the situation. A letter from your program might help as well.

I would talk to the admissions people at the med school and make sure this will be fine, just to make sure. I doubt it will matter to them but you want to be conrete about it.

No...as long as they recieve your official transcripts with all your classes completed, it won't matter. I would talk to your school's admissions office just to let them know though.
