In one of my college classes. I know it's not the end of the world but I know I didn't study enough. Another thing is, I might be studying wrong.

See, for this test, I basically had to know 14 pages of information front and back. I had a week to do so and only studied for three days. I mean, I don't know what I got, really. I don't know how she grades test so I might have actually wound up with an 82.

Bottom line is, I don't want this to happen again. Seriously. I procrastinate way to much sometimes. I need to discipline myself but it's hard and I definitely didn't remember a lot of what was on the outlines. It's for sociology class.

What do you recommend for the next test? Should I make flash cards? How do you study 14 pages worth of chapter outline and remember everything? The test was pretty direct/straightforward so if you knew all the info on the outline, you got 100.

Sounds like you already know your problem and your solution.

Yeah, we can't really "teach" you willpower.

You yourself gave good suggestions on what you can do. But remember (im assuming there are curves in this class) it depends on how everyone did as well. If you wound up with an 82 and the highest scorer in the class got an 84....if this continues you can pretty much say your going to get a good grade.

This happened in one of my classes last semester, it was so bad, the professor said if you can average an 85, you can get an A.

you just failed one insignificant test of yours. Many have failed their lives, their dreams.

That's me right now. Maybe your teacher will let you retake your lowest test grade in the class. I was lucky to have a teacher that did when I failed a test.

Start studying now while waiting for answers on SDN...not after.

Do you have a study schedule for the subject?

Depakote hit the nail on the head- you already know exactly what you need to do to excel in the class, so just do it and you should be perfectly fine.

Alrighty. Thanks guys. 👍

I find out what I received today around the end of class. I'm hoping she curved it and wasn't brutal on the grading. *crosses fingers*

I got an 84/105. The highest out of the profs. two classes was a 103. I scored around average with what I thought was pretty much no studying. But I did pay attention and there was partial credit (no curves in this class btw).

So I can drop a max of 14 points on the rest of the assignments and still walk out with the same grade as the person who scores 100+ on everything. =)

Hey,

We're all counting on you reviving the thread when you get the results from your second exam. 😉

Good luck studying effectively!

BTW, it is great that you localize the problem and don't simply go "that professor is a ... [please fill in your favorite insult]!" With this attitude of analyzing the problem and changing what you can change you'll do fine.

:claps:
