Hey guys,

I would really appreciate if you would tell me whether or not I should retake the DAT.

I applied this year and received 2 interviews...waitlisted at one, heard nothing from the other. I believe my extracurriculars/volunteering/dental experience are very solid. ov gpa = 3.2 sci gpa = 3.0 ..In addition to relatively low gpas, I'm quite certain that having my primary application finished in November didn't help my chances!!!!!

You should be good.
But what kind of ECs do you have if you wouldnt mind saying so.

Ur Dat scores are good man i wouldnt waist time and retake since u got 2 interviews when u applied late try to apply early this year and have everything ready by june i think you will be fine
Ur gpa is not that bad and the good scores in DAT will make a balance so best luck

Your DAT scores are very solid as well as your GPA so you should be fine

But what kind of ECs do you have if you wouldnt mind saying so.

ECs are actually pretty good..i have a lot of volunteering/work hours. thats prob the only part of my appl i feel confident.

i definitely know my gpa is on the lower side, but what bothers me most is my PA score which is making me consider a retake...

I'm not sure how much applying earlier will help you...You should consider taking again ( try for 22)

yeah, i hope so...i'm definitely going to take some extra classes..i think its gonna be tough to raise my gpa in general (too many credits!!)

lol I'm really not too thrilled with these scores, but...

I pretty much used Kaplan BB and destroyer. I did use practice tests from Achiever and Top Score. I would definitely recommend to go through all the practice tests close to the actual exam date...its not so much that the content is similar, but it really will help you with the time constraints. I do see that Kaplan covers a broader range than maybe what the test covers, but I think if you use it properly and really try to understand what you're studying then you should do well. I think a lot of people underestimate how helpful it is to use Kaplan online. Its nice to get yourself familiar with that content on the computer (because the DAT is on a comp.!!)

That's because most people don't know that most of the information and practice materials are actually online. Teachers do a terrible job at getting their students acquainted with all of the things they can do online.

drclf - i think you really need to apply earlier, esp to some more private schools! i think tufts and nyu are more likely to accept you with an earlier application
