I received a letter from the Director of Admission at the University of Minnestoa Medical-Minneapolis Medical School basically stating that they are experiencing a delay in receiving application from AMCAS. Thus, they are requesting applicants to submit a printout of their AMCAS application. In addition to that the would like a coverletter that list your MCAT and GPA. More work for me. ugh!

I got a secondary from them a few days ago. Was the letter you received part of that mailing, or was it something else altogether?

No, I haven't recieved a secondary from them yet, this was something else. Are you applying EDP or regular?

CCKid and Smoke this: Are you guys MN residents? When did you receive your respective letters/secondaries? When did you submit your AMCAS? Are you processed? Sorry for all the questions, but the U is my first choice, so I'm kind of antsy. Thanks.

I received the same letter that CCKid is talking about without any secondary information. I am also a MN resident and took the April MCAT. Submited 7-18, but no indication of processing yet. More work, yes, but at least no request for money!

Hey Barton and CCk, no, I'm not a Minnesota resident. I'm also not EDP. I submitted my AMCAS the first week, "processed" July 25, and the letter from the U was dated like August 14th I think. The letter claims that the admissions committee has reviewed my AMCAS. Does anyone know if they screen?

I'm super psyched to get this. I would happily commit to U of M if I get an acceptance, but I've got some more hurdles ahead before that can happen. 😉

I got the U of M secondary in the mail today. Did yours ask you to include a paper copoy of your AMCAS app with your secondary? Mine did. Man those questions are pretty lame. I hate having to fit essays in space provided when they don't provide an electronic version. Just for the record, I'm a MN resident, not EDP, I submitted AMCAS on 6/23, have been verified.
Smoke this: Just curious, what's your state of res? What are your reasons for applying to U of M? I'm always curious why people apply out of state to public schools, especially those that admit so few out of staters. For the record, though, I am applying to UVM and Iowa, so look who's talking.
