Hmm...I'm kind of puzzled.

My AECOM application was complete way back at the beginning of August. I called the admissions office yesterday to see if anything had gotten lost. The lady (Debbie) told me that my application was complete, and to try sending her an email "requesting an interview." I was like what?! but followed the instructions anyway; I shot off an email saying that I was still interested in AECOM and would like to visit. This morning, I received an invite (albeit for March 17th).

Anyone ever heard of this happening before? Is it a pity invite? Or a reward for showing interest? Kinda puzzled. Am I interviewing for the waitlist since it's so late in the game? My GPA/MCAT are above average for AECOM, but I'm questioning the way I got the invite.

Probably some procedural thing - the interview invite was ready to go out and needed someone's ok or something. Maybe she was having a little fun with you 🙂. I certainly would mess with paranoid pre-med minds if I had the chance (all of y'all will feel the same way in a year or two!). Congrats on the interview - even better that AECOM isn't rolling - right? Good luck!

I read in another post that they start rolling after Jan 15 decisions.

This seems true. Apparently they interview until June, however, so I guess it could have been worse!

AECOM sends out its first wave of non-rolling admissions January 15th (mailing 'em on the 17th this year) after that, Admissions become rolling, but there will still be spaces open, its a large class
