Hi I took DAT today.8/10/2010

I am satisfied with all my score, except RC🙁
RC was the hardest section for me, because English is not my first language.
I came to states 3years ago, so I was so stressed about RC section.
I got

The bio section had few unexpected problems, but most of them were very clear. They ask you general questions. The chem section had only 2-3 calculation problem, but those calculations were so much easier than the ones in topscore or achiever. I don't know why but I did not have any NMR questions or IR question on ochem section. The PAT part is very very similar to CRD PAT, so if you are doing well on CRD, then you should be fine. For the RC section, I did not have the piano, but I just suck at reading. They had 2-3 inference questions per passage.
I am satisfied with the overall DAT score, but I think my gpa is not enough.
Do you guys think that I have a chance for any dental schools? I heard BU and NYU do not consider heavily on gpa compared to other schools.

Just apply to Dental School....I would say apply broadly i.e to around 10 dental schools. You are already a little late in the game but hopefully not too late. I think your DAT does compensate for your low GPA...if you have good extra curricular stuff (some research etc) I think you have a decent shot of getting in....def apply right away and see what happens...
