It may sound lame, but I will shortly be in med school and would like to begin the process now. I say this because I work in a research lab where the days can be pretty boring, and would like to multi-task if possible. I know some schools, Stanford, NYU, post some of their lectures in mp3 format on the web. I was wondering if any students currently in med school that has access to lecture files could pm me about emailing a bunch of them to me so I can start doing something exciting at work...

how does Goljan's audio sound ?

on a more serious note, if you REALLY must do something, go to university of michigan's site and look for their anatomy section... its packed full with stuff you can look at

Why torture yourself?!?!?! Enjoy your last summer of freedom! Halfway through first semester of freshmen year I actually found myself missing the monotony of pipetting and pouring culture plates!

The summer before starting med school I bought Harrisons and just flipped through it if I felt like doing something medical.

I'm not one of those obsessive types. This has nothing to do with nerves and is the not the request of a gunner. It's just that you can listen to chamillionaire so many types while you work or workout before you say to yourself, what the ****? Anyway just a request in case anyone has any files they'd be willing to share...

Like the guy said before try goljan, but this might not make since until after your first year or second year of med school. So try kaplan web prep mp3. Goto the step 1 forum and look up a thread talking about it. Web prep has lectures on bio chem, physio etc that you can listen to while working out. I did this most of my second year and it helped alot. Maybe if you took bio chem in undergrad or physio you could listen to those paticular lectures.

check out itunes podcasts for some of their medical info. some schools post some stuff on there too. there's a post in the tech forum that lists some good podcasts. I agree with Long Dong - web prep is probably more understandable at this point although Goljan would be much more entertaining (but you really need first year behind you to understand Goljan).
