You don't need a professional degree to make money giving people advice online. You just need a good business and marketing plan.
If you want to receive reimbursement for services rendered as, say, a licensed professional counselor, then you need to apply to graduate school. Note that, as of right now, videoconferencing is the only type of online therapy that Medicare and most private insurers will cover. You could provide services for cash through Talkspace or something like that, but the pay is dismal and hardly worth the time and money invested in becoming a licensed professional. Also, you should know that therapy via text/email is not well regarded in the professional community.
Therapy is not a social interaction per se, but you do need to be comfortable being face to face and communicating effectively with another person. If this isn't an area that you feel could ever be a strength, I would think twice about this plan.
