Hi guys so here is my story. I just graduated last feb 2007 at DLSU manila Bachelor of Arts in Sports and Recreational Management under the College of Education. Medyo malayo sa medicine dba? Pero i really want to become a doctor. A few units of biology(4 units), basic anatomy-physiology(3 units), and chemistry(2units) ang mga napagaralan ko nung college. So feeling ko gagapang talaga ako sa med school 🙁

ako, Sociology major pero ok naman performance ko sa med school. may classmate pa nga ko na civil engineer. ok lang yan basta determined ka maging doctor. mejo mag-isip-isip ka nga lang. nagsisi ako when i entered clerkship. di ko naisip na kelangan palang magduty ng 24-36 hours every three days for two years (clerkship & internship). nakakapagod na. 🙁

Dlsu HSC requires only 6 units of Filipino.

for most med schools, as long as you have a bs degree, no need for additional units

med school is a VERY different life from college. many cum laudes/ magnas/ summas get their first failing exam grade in med.

if you are really determined to be a doctor, go for it! whatever your pre-med may be. you have to prepare yourself for additional 3-4 yrs of studying, hospital duties, further dependency to your parents meanwhile your friends are gradually climbing the "social ladder".

i have a friend who graduated in business management at DLSU taft. she went to med school after 2-3 yrs. now, she's a licensed physician. she's happy. she has no regrets, knowing that she may have been financially stable now if she continued to pursue a career in business.

just complete your missing number of units, aim high for the NMAT, apply to your chosen medical schools (& pray that you'll be accepted) then you're on your way to medical school.

btw, i hope none of you is "takot sa dugo". hahaha!

grabe ironhide we have the same problem heheeh dlsu manila rin ako!! hahaha pero nde p nga grad kala ko ako lang may ganitong story e... are u a male or female? so what's up na?? are u going to med school na?? u have to complete the units, I've asked na in DLSU college of science e.. u have to finish the units before a decent med school could accept u.. and nmat pa.. ask the college of science.. u could finish ur lacking units within 2-3 terms, i assure u that!🙂 goodluck ironhide

if you're the type who's used to getting straight A's all your life, think of it as a positive humbling experience. 😀
