Right on. Thanks for the help guys, I'm going to go ahead with the grade replacement DO route. If I wanted to be MD, I shouldn't have screwed up so much and I'm lucky DO is still within reach
MD is practically out of question; if you had 5-6 MORE years of 18-15 undergrad credits at straight 4.0 you'd have 3.2 over 12-13 years undergrad..
grade replacement and do well on MCAT and DO should be feasible
This is what you are looking at. And what you are saying about DO and not wanting to go that route are not valid reservations. Is it harder to get into a surgical residency as a DO? Perhaps, but you can't have a 2.4 GPA and complain about that which you seem to be realizing. There are people with lower GPAs who have ended up in DO's with bigger comeback stories. Retake the low grades, do another year of classes to prove your upward trend is legit, and most importantly do well on the MCAT and you can begin to start thinking about DO schools then, but the road ahead is still long.
