I am just trying to share my experience here. My dentist whom I am sort of assisting and shadowing suggested me to try a coronal polishing certification course. It's actually designated for DA but I gave a try and it actually exceeded my expectation. I practiced on a manikin first and I finally got to polish on my patient. man, the coronal polishing looked sooo simple but it was whole different story when I was doing on my own. Hands were getting sore. However, I really liked that and those lecture were very informative, too. I know many predental students want to have real clinical or hands-on experience before going to dental school, but of course, we are not allowed to do that at any other settings. so giving a try on those kind of classes can be very a nice way to do that. Unfortunately, I can not perform the function after class unless I get licensed as RDA. (even with a certificate). Not much waste because you will be good at it by the time you encounter this in dental school.
