I had an academic IA in my first year of college for using AI on a coding assignment. I recieved a zero on the assignment. I later transferred schools as I was not able afford that OOS school and transferred to an in state school where i did so much better and was only paying $200 a semester due to financial aid. This IA happened in 2022 and will be expunged in 2028 january. I am debating if i should wait until it expunges to apply or disclose it and apply in 2027. Also, its not on my official transcript.

This is a nothing burger, because we were all young and stupid once.

No need to delay application, just explain it and own this. And don't screw up again. But, keep in mind that you should apply when you have the best possible application.
