    Hey all,

So I'm applying to only MD schools and have received a large number of secondaries so far. I'm filling them out and wondering what I should do about essays that ask me to explain IA. I have already filled out the IA section on the AMCAS primary. Should I use that one or should I draft a new copy. I think the one on my primary is good but I don't want to leave any loose ends.

    Best,
    James

What kind of institutional action was it, do you think it requires more explanation than what you provided on your primary application? If it was a simple alcohol violation your freshman year of college, I don't think its very necessary to bring it back up. My medical school counselor is a former ADCOM member, and she said they're usually willing to overlook a single alcohol violation your freshman year. On the other hand, if it's something more malicious and you don't think you had enough room to go over all the details in your primary, you could maybe bring it back up.

Can you provide one of the prompts? I scanned my old saved application essays and did not come across any I had to write.
