Hello guys, I am new here and I often see in people' signatures something like
MD: 1° 16 | 16 | II - 7 | IA - 5 | A - 1 |WL - 1| R - 0 |
DO: 1° 7 | 7 | II - 7 | IA - 3 | A - 3 |WL - 0 | R - 0 |
Could someone please explain what do all these letters and numbers mean? (except MD and DO)
Thank you

1° = primaries completed
2° = secondaries completed
II = interview invite
IA = interview attended
WL = waitlist
R = rejection
A = acceptance

They're commonly seen in MDApps profiles.

The numbers refer to how many of each category someone got (so II = 5 means 5 interview invites, A = 2 means 2 acceptances).

1° = sent primary application
2° = secondary received (or completed)
II = interview invite
IA = interviews attended
A= acceptances
WL= waitisted
R= rejected (usually post-interview if they format like that)

Can I just ask why IA and II are two separate things instead of It just being “I”?

I guess because not everyone attends interviews out of the ones they’ve been invited to!

How can you attend an interview if you aren’t invited?

You can’t. But you won’t nexesarilly attend one if you ARE invited. People turn down interviews believe it or not. It’s also a good count to keep. Say you’ve been invited to ten, but you’ve only attended two. Or heck, if you weren’t able to attend one...

Also, if the interview hasnt happened yet

Exactly. Also to determine ones odds. If someone says they’ve had two interviews, you can’t really tell their odds as well as if you knew that they had more
