I have an A at ICOM and II at NSUKPCOM and can't figure out which school is better. NSU had declining board rates during COVID and I'm not sure if this ever improved because it's not on their website. That said, those that do make it out of NSU match into some really great programs. I don't know if I wanna go into anything competitive but I'm aware that established is always better than new. Additionally, NSU has more rotation sites in urban, desirable areas (or at least desirable to me) than ICOM. Finally there's matching, my largest concern with ICOM is matching into a metro-based hospital system on the east coast or in Chicago as that's where most of my family is located, this seems harder to do at ICOM than it would be at NSU. I've spoken to students at both schools and I've heard a fair bit of horror stories from both institutions. Oh! And I almost forgot that NSU is about 10K more a year in tuition and has significantly higher COL compared to ICOM. Is that higher price worth it for potentially better chances matching into a program I would want (or I guess in a location more desirable to me)?
Someone please help me cause I'm very split.
