So im dyslexic, and i'd like to take the english requirement for dental schools at a community college. I was wondering is this a wise choice for me to do since im already going to a university in california?

You are fine. Most schools don't accept no more than 60 credits from CC.

When i talked to my health advisor, she said that they don't like to see students go back to community college to take a class if they are in university, especially if its a requirement. Does anyone know from first hand experience, or from experiences of others? I'm not trying to weasel my way out of it, its just because they wont let me pass/fail the class, i know its going to bring down my gpa, and its not because i dont want to study.

Its just one class, you will be fine. Some guys did all their pre-requisite at CC and they got into the program.
