If I add school during verification....

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
im not quite certain, i would just wait until ur verified then add it on, it gets sent directly then...

i'm really pretty certain it doesn't change your place in line, go ahead and add it...though the previous post is right too...if you do it right after you're verified it won't hold you up either.

Does anyone know it's okay to add more schools even though I've been verified since late July? I'm done with most secondaries already, but I feel like I should apply to a couple more schools. I'm thinking it's too late, but has anyone added a school two months after verification? Is it even possible? And will the added schools question why the late add on?

Thanks.

It does not affect your place in line. I know this for myself because I added 3 schools halfway into my verification process and I still got verified at about 4 weeks after submitting my application.

And I believe it is still possible to add schools even now, and I don't think that schools will know nor question why you added late. For all they know, you submitted your application a month ago and it was verified now.

I put down 1 school for my application and after I hit SUBMIT and then I got a secondary invite from that school. They couldn't even view my application for another month as it sat "ready for review." I will add more schools on Oct 13/14 depending on my mcat score. If I don't get what I want, I won't apply and only be out $160 vs. $160 + $30x(whatever number of schools).

actually you hear from schools as soon as you sumbit your app. They start sending the secondaries pretty much right away with no confirmation.

Some schools have Auto-2ndaries, so they don't even look at your application in considering you for a secondary. Once you submit you AMCAS application, schools you list receive notice of your application. I know for Boston, once they receive notice of my application, I received a secondary the next day from them. But there is a catch! In order for your secondary to be complete, your AMCAS application MUST BE VERIFIED, along with several other factors depending on the school. So in either case, the early secondary won't do you any good until then. The best you can do is submit it, and when your application is verified, there is no down time.

In your case, you save a lot of money, so it isn't bad to wait it out until you get verified with a score. Good luck btw.
