Okay so I been reading through some old threads regarding post baccs and masters programs and still dont really know what to do for my particular situation. Any advice would be helpful.

I have a low GPA (~3.0) and got a 21 AA, 22 TS, and 23 PAT on the DAT. I have good extra curriculars, research experience and volunteer hours.

Again any advice is appreciated. I know these questions are asked a ton, anyone who has been in the same situation or has done postbacc/masters and have gotten into dental school with a ~3.0 can chime in.

A lot of us that went to postbac/masters programs are at least getting more interviews than before.

Have you gone to any interviews? When did your app go out?

2 (vs 1 last year), app went out early July.

Then again my undergrad GPA was much worse than yours.

If I remember correctly, most post-bacc programs will add to your baccalaureate GPA calculations, while masters programs will start a new "graduate GPA". There are always exceptions to this, and I may be wrong altogether, so check whichever program you're applying to for details.

Okay awesome, thank you

I have a similar gpa (sgpa)- 2.9 undergrad ->3.17 after post-bacc; my apps were mailed mid Sept and have 4 interviews so far.

Schools want to see you improve but most important, to not give up...especially if this is what you really want to do. For low stats applicants like us, an upward trend in a post bac/masters (3.5+) and a 22 DAT. Plus, continued involvement in the community and shadowing. This is one of the reasons why reapplicants have a higher chance of getting in. 🙂
