If I have the EK Study Package and Kaplan Premier, do I also need TBR, too? =/

Hi - I have the Kaplan Premier Program 2007~2008 Edition (the complete study guide) and I have the EK complete study package (6th edition) as well as the EK 1001 +101 books and 16 mini-MCATs. I'm almost done with the EK study package and I have the exams 2 months away, which should leave me time to run through Kaplan again and do the 1001 practices.

Should I also get the Princeton Review? Because I heard that EK sciences suck. (Maybe not that bad, but I hear they're mainly best for their verbal, and maybe biology a bit, but that's it). But what about Kaplan? Is Kaplan supplemented with Examkrackers enough or should I get TBR? I hear that The Princeton Review has the best science practices.

What should I do? MCAT 2 months away!

What I would do is do the Ek 1001 and content review. If you can I would get BR gen chem and physics for practice. Set aside the last 3 weeks to one month for practice exams. Finally, TPR physical science is good, but BR has the toughest passages that integrate concepts. This is where people get killed. Can you handle a physics problem that incorporates magnetism and torque? Most can't and the mcat loves to ask such questions which is why so many people get smoked. If you work hard, you should be able to get through the 1001 and BR Gen Chem and physics. If you do that plus take the AAMCs, you will slay the beast.

I think almost any source would be good because it is the least tested subject.

I used berk review for that too and it is the best prep I have seen. The passages are wicked hard!!

I thought TPR was good as well and have heard EK is good.

Pick a source depending on how deep you want to get into it.

EK will dust it over and Berk review will take you places you might not wish to go. Kaplan and TPR are in the middle.

As far as PS yes, TPR and BR are harder and better. EK is good for O-chem if you understood it well. TPR is solid as well and more in depth. BR is great, but detailed so it depends on what you need.

Okay - for high scores, I'm aiming for a 14 (with currently an average of 12~13 on my PS), then what should I get? I still have 2 more months, and I'm still reviewing EK's PS materials.

Will doing the 1001 booklet help at all? Or should I just trash them and get The Berkeley Review?

If you're already scoring that high then skip the 1001 for gen chem and physics and use BR. Do the 1001 on stuff you miss. I would suggest doing 1001 for biology and O-chem though. Doing BR will have you scoring 14-15 in PS.

The more practice material you do, the better.

So if your financial situation is favorable, get everything 😉

I recommend BR for PS, and EK for BS.

EK and BR both for VR. (Each book gives you about 100 passages of verbal).
