If only taking COMLEX, is it still worth it to take UWSAs and NBMEs?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you have Uworld already why would you not? If you can do well on Uworld SIMs you can do well with the basic science/medicine parts of COMLEX. Naturally this will not help with COMLEX's completely random content or OMM, but if you already purchased Uworld might as well use it.

Unless of course you're less than a week out from COMLEX and are worried an unpredictable SIM score may hurt your confidence/focus.

Take the COMSAEs to get a feel for how the questions are worded (and also to get a handle on what kind of ethics questions they ask). I wish we had data on how the scores for COMSAEs relate to actual COMLEX, but I guess we will have to wait until next year to find out. If you're looking for practice questions, nothing beats UWorld.

UWSAs for sure. NBMEs probably not.

COMSAE scores aren’t especially predictive, unfortunately, but I think taking them is a good idea because the question style is quite different. To that end, while UWorld is the gold standard for learning, I’d recommend some comquest/combank for practice as well (I am only personally familiar with Combank, have heard good things about comquest, doubt which one you pick makes a difference)

Just make sure you still do UW for your question blocks. Don’t fall into the traps of my classmates and only do combank/comquest

Or should I just do COMSAEs?

Don't just rely on the COMSAES. They are poor predictors and don't have explanations. Use the UWSA's, and like many others have said NBME's aren't a great option either.

Focus on the UWSA's even if just taking COMLEX.
