I have only had one interview and that was in January. I am still awaiting word on 4 other schools that haven't notified me of any decision they have made regarding granting me an interview or not.

Is it so late in the game that I have virtually no chance of getting into a school? These schools haven't officially rejected me yet, but by waiting this long I feel like I have been un-officially rejected. What do you guys think?

You still have that one interview, right? Send a letter of Intent. Chances are that you won't be hearing back from the other schools. Maybe post your resume so folks here can offer advice to prepare for the coming cycle?

Have you not heard back yet from your Jan interview, or was it a wait-list/rejection?

It's late in the season, and while people are still definitely getting interview invites, things are winding down. Your chances are not great, but not completely out of the realm of possibility.

Did you only apply to five schools? I have no idea what your stats are, but I think this is a really bad idea for anyone -- particularly those who are not exceptionally strong applicants. I won't say that the admissions process is arbitrary, because I don't think it is, but you never know what a particular med school is looking for. Even if you seem like a good match in terms of numbers, it's entirely possible that they want people who are very different from you in terms of ECs, demographics, comittment to primary care, etc... Therefore, it is in your best interest to apply to as many schools as you can afford and not do a half-assed job on the secondaries. If your GPA or MCAT scores are weak, apply to DO schools as well as MD.
